Hello Everyone,
We have a hybrid Open Education Week event happening tomorrow, Wednesday, at 12:30-1:30. This is a hybrid event. Please feel free to attend in person (Summit Centre, BCIT Library, Burnaby campus, SE14), or you can email me for the Zoom link.
The Development and Evolution of Three Open Textbooks (see poster attached for more details).
Amy Goldlist<https://loop.bcit.ca/people/agoldlist> is Program Head for Business Analytics in Operations Management at BCIT. She has a MDS (Masters of Data Science) from UBC. She is a coauthor on multiple textbooks, including the Open textbooks: "Business Mathematics" and "Business Analytics". She is currently helping with a new open project, "Statistics for Business Analytics".
Erika Ram<https://loop.bcit.ca/people/eram1> is an Instructor at BCIT's Computing Department and Chair of the EDCO Educational Technology and Learning Design Committee. With over nine years in higher education, her work combines pedagogical theory with practical technology applications, program development and creative problem-solving.
Julia Alards-Tomalin<https://loop.bcit.ca/people/jalardstomalin> is an instructor at BCIT in the Natural Resources department. She studied Forestry and Ecological Restoration at BCIT and recently completed a Master of Education at Simon Fraser University. Her background includes horticulture, arboriculture, invasive species management and ecological restoration. Starting in 2019, Julia began to work with her students to create an Open Education textbook focusing on the winter identification of plants.
