Good morning/afternoon Canada!
Who will be at Open Ed? Might be nice to grab a beverage of choice with each other.

Greetings Canada OER members,
eCampusOntario would like to host a Basecamp instance and interact in other spaces – as participants choose to build community around the six-week "Intro to Open Education" MOOC on edX by David Wiley and George Siemens. It begins October 1.
Introduction to Open Education https://www.edx.org/course/introduction-open-education-utarlingtonx-link-oex , it's free to sign up and take (of course).

www.edx.org
Learn about open education and how it can significantly reduce costs, increase agency and transparency, and improve learning outcomes.
We're going to use the hashtag #OpenEdMOOCCanada to build on the official hashtag.
Let's see how much of a cross-Canada following we can build together. I'm happy to add any interested participants into the Basecamp team, and can deputize anyone to add others. We could host weekly Twitter chats if desired, promote blog posts related to the learning, etc. Let's invite as many educators and learners as we can!
Other ideas and supports that you desire?
Go ahead and blow up my inbox with interested participants and I'll just keep adding people in to Basecamp. Don't forget to sign up! We can probably recruit other Canadians inside the edX shell.

Building Champions and Allies - For Open and Indigenizing Pedagogies
Teaching and Learning Today 2018, to be held at the University of Saskatchewan May 1 & 2 2018, is tackling two of the most important paradigm shifts in higher education across Canada, indigenizing and opening academia and exploring where they may intersect. We are calling on all champions and allies of these two movements to join us in sharing, discovering, and learning about the challenges, rewards, and shifts in education that are impacting and transforming our institutions. Kory Wilson, the Executive Director, Aboriginal Initiatives and Partnerships for the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) will be the opening keynote for this conference. If you are interested in building, driving, or supporting indigenization or open pedagogy, please save the date. Space will be limited.

Greetings Open Education Colleagues:
In early 2017, the Creative Commons Global Network (CCGN) completed a consultation process of renewing and reorganizing itself to support a strong and growing global movement. The year-long process resulted in the CCGN [ https://creativecommons.org/about/global-affiliate-network/network-strategy/ | Global Network Strategy ] . Part of the new strategy is to establish defined areas of focus, or “platforms,” which will drive CC’s global activities.
