Reviews
* Starting March 18, 2018, the licence for published reviews changed from CC BY-ND to CC BY. (Older reviews still retain the CC BY-ND designation.) This was done to more easily share reviews with other collections. This information, along with a statement clarifying that the copyright for reviews is held by the reviewer, has been clarified on the [ https://open.bccampus.ca/call-for-proposals/call-for-reviewers-2/ | Review an Open Textbook ] web page on our website.
*
When open textbooks are replaced with new editions, PDFs of the reviews for the older edition are now compiled in a zip file and posted by the new version of the textbook. A README file is included in the zipped file explaining this arrangement and the reason for it.

Subject: [Canadaoer] Two new business open texts to share!
Hi Canada OER!
Six college business professors and our Program Manager team here at eCampusOntario just completed an adaptation of two open textbooks to support introductory business courses.
Communication for Business Professionals and Fundamentals of Business were updated to reflect the Canadian context and align to Ontario's Program Standards and Learning Outcomes for Business.
Communication for Business Professionals<https://ecampusontario.pressbooks.pub/commbusprofcdn/>
Fundamentals of Business<https://rc-openlibrary-pb.ecampusontario.ca/businessfuncdn/>
I’ve attached a doc here which highlights the major enhancements.
Congrats to all involved and big shout out to Jenni Hayman, Peggy French, Terry Greene and Joanne Kehoe who supported our faculty and made these adaptations happen!

I just had a meeting with the VP Academic of our undergraduate student association and he’s looking for a resources for individual students to guide them in approaching their instructors about considering OER. Does anyone have something like talking points for individual students?
Thank you.

Hello everyone,
Before I sign off for some vacation time I wanted to share two recent developments at KPU which I hope will serve as a model for other institutions:
1. We now have a searchable field in the course timetable for Zed Cred sections. To see how this works watch this video: https://media.kpu.ca/media/Search+the+course+timetable+for+zero+textbook+co…
2. Our Senate has now approved a policy that integrates a) a search for relevant OER and b) flagging as a potential Zed Cred course in the course development & revision process. Although this seems rather technical, in practice it means that within 5 years (the course review cycle at KPU) all courses will have undergone a search for OER.
I am sharing these developments with this group because I am happy to provide guidance for anyone else seeking to achieve either of these two things.
Cheers,
Rajiv

Hi Everyone,
Our students' union is developing a letter to share affordable resource
options to instructors (OER being one of these). Do any of you have sample
letters from their institutions that we could look to? Or
experiences/lessons learned to share?
Thank you!
