Some professors in our College of Education are looking for an open textbook or other OER for a first year course. It’s an introductory course (basic educational theory, terms, what’s assessment, etc.). The learning outcomes not specific to Saskatchewan are: - Develop awareness of important education constructs, issues, and practices in teaching and learning in secondary schools (high schools) - Begin to understand who secondary learners are and how to address their unique needs - Start to consider alternative possibilities for innovating teaching and learning in secondary education They are considering taking an open pedagogy approach and having students find appropriate information for creating a course wiki that could serve as a text, but the professors would still like to know what’s out there for OER to either go along side or use if the open pedagogy approach doesn’t seem to be working (it’s a new course).
